The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013)

Hers’s a flick that’s been out for a while that was probably my favorite movie of 2013. We meet Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). Jordan is a licensed stock broker on Wall Street where he learns how to get ahead in life from someone who has been doing this for a very long time (Matthew McConaughey). Once the stock market crashes, Jordan finds himself out of a job and running out of money. Jordan finds a job being a stock broker at some very small place who sells penny stocks. He figures out a way to become richer by the hour and rip people off. Everything he is doing is illegal. Jordan develops a very bad drug problem from all of this. After a few years of becoming insanely rich, the FBI starts to get involved and check on what he’s been up to.

The Wolf Of Wall Street is a movie that runs for 179 minutes. I know that is very intimidating when starting a movie, but it honestly does not feel that long at all. This movie flies by and you feel like you want to see more when it ends. This is a movie that was directed by Martin Scorsese. Scorsese is the best of all time and he delivered a movie that will be called a classic in years to come. This is a movie that is very entertaining and funny. Scorsese is definitely on his game with this.

The acting in this is absolutely perfect. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill were both nominated of Oscar’s. Jonah Hill gave the performance of his career as Belfort’s partner. He was fun, funny, and all around enjoyable to watch. Just when I thought Leonardo DiCaprio was loosing it a little bit and his age was coming into play. Don’t think that way about him. He gave what was the best performance of his life as Jordan Belfort.

In comparison to Goodfellas and Casino, this movie may be just as good as those two. We watched someone who lived an extravagant lifestyle. This is a movie you want to see if you haven’t. It’s very enjoyable and a little over the top funny. The movie opens with a dwarf being thrown at a bullseye. That’s a little over the top, but it’s a great scene. Keep in mind, that The Wolf Of Wall Street is rated R. It has this rating for many different reasons, so do not watch this with children or your mother.

Overall, The Wolf Of Wall Street is a movie of pure excellence from start to finish. It is one that will be remembered and one that got snubbed of the Best Picture Oscar, which is another reason  why I have problems with the Academy, but you don’t want to hear about that. Just watch this movie!

Grade= A (Excellent! A Must Watch!)
