Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015)

Here’s a flick that’s been out for a couple of weeks that I just saw. While some men are on mission, something terrible occurs and an agent is left dead. Harry Hart (Colin Firth), makes a promise to the agents family. He really makes a promise to the man’s baby and tells him that he will always be there for him. We now go quite a few years into the future and that baby is now a young man named Eggsy (Taron Egerton). Eggsy is going through a really tough time in life. He has to deal with his mom’s horrible boyfriend who treats the two of them terribly. He also is having trouble with people at school who keep bullying him. He then gets into a run in with the police. This is when things are very bad for Eggsy. When Eggsy goes to jail, he meets Harry for the second time. He offers Eggsy the opportunity to join a secret training-session where he and a few other young men and women will have the opportunity to succeed a become a noble Kingsman. While all this is going on, Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), is setting up a very evil plan that will affect everybody in the world. Eggsy may be the one who can stop Valentine and his plan.

First off, for this being a movie that was released in February, I am more than surprised, I’m simply stunned. This movie was downright awesome. I loved every minute of this, from the training to the actual fight scenes. Director, Matthew Vaughn, makes some pretty awesome movies and this one may be my favorite of his. He is very well-known for his direction of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class. I don’t think there is any argument that you could make to say that Vaughn doesn’t make awesome movies. Everything about Kingsman was a lot of fun and such an enjoyable movie going experience.

This movie is just a very well-crafted and smart action film. I really liked the cast in this movie. I thought Colin Firth was awesome and Samuel L. Jackson is just about awesome in everything he is in. He is very funny in this movie with the way he talks, dresses, and behaves. Michael Caine also shows up for a little while. I’ll always remember him as Alfred and Nigel Powers. This movie was just so funny and sleek with everything they throw at you. I haven’t seen an action film that I was this excited about since I first watched Skyfall. I left this movie with a huge smile on my face because I was so shocked.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a movie that I had an absolute ball watching. It is just such an explosive film that you say, “This is fucking awesome!” This movie is just a two-hour fun ride that never makes you bored for a second. This is the type of action movie that you could watch over and over again and still never be bored. Even the music that is played throughout the movie is awesome. A lot of great rock and roll is played during the awesome action scenes. I thought this movie was very well-executed and I can not recommend this more if you are a fan of action movies.

Overall, Kingsman: The Secret Service is a surprising, fun, and a completely over-the-top film that never leaves you bored and is just awesome. Two thumbs up from me!

Grade= B+ (Very Good!)
