Looking for a rock and roll/pop concert to go and dance your ass off to? Maroon 5 is the show you want to check out. I even felt like I had the “Moves Like Jagger.” Rock/pop icon’s Maroon 5 returned to Philadelphia on March 9, 2015 at the Wells Fargo Center for their stop here on their world tour to promote the new album. I have to say that before I went to this show, I was moderately excited because I was never really a huge fan of Maroon 5, but this show completely blew me away. This show was absolutely awesome. If you are a big fan of Maroon 5 you probably would enjoy this show more than I did and I absolutely loved it. There were two opening acts that came on before Maroon 5. These acts were a female singer named Rozzi Crane and also new band Magic! who have the new hit “Rude.” These opening acts did not really impress me. Rozzi Crane had a great singing voice and it was obvious why Maroon 5 chose her to be an opening act. After all, Adam Levine is a coach on The Voice. When Magic! was on stage I was just bored. I was not a fan of their album and I think that they were a poor choice to have on the tour.
After everything was all said and done with the opening acts, Maroon 5 came on stage and made the crowd just go absolutely insane from the second they started playing. They were playing to a completely sold out crowd at the Wells Fargo Center. They came out and immediately played a couple of their newer songs. The first song of the show they performed was “Animals,” which was then followed by “One More Night.” They are two of their newer songs off of the two recent albums. Those songs were fun and cool to hear, but they didn’t forget about my personal favorite songs from their debut album, Songs About Jane. When they played these songs was when I absolutely fell in love with this concert. Don’t get me wrong, I knew this show was awesome from the first song, but hearing my favorite stuff is what sold me.
Adam Levine had an incredible stage presence and you certainly knew it from the crowd’s reaction whenever he got close to people. I am still shocked the show was as good as it was. I can’t get over how impressed I am by their performance. They absolutely rocked the house and every person in that sold out crowd was loving it. Maroon 5 played a 14 song setlist, followed by a 4 song encore. This was the only issue I had with the show. I wished they played more songs. I can’t find anything other to say about it than that. They just completely blew me away and after seeing them, I realized they are a band I can never miss when they come around. This is a show that would be fun for anyone to see!
Overall, Maroon 5 is a concert that you don’t often have the opportunity to see a lot because they do not tour that often, but when they do you should absolutely go. I can’t recommend this show enough. This was not my first rodeo and I can say this was in my top 10 for the greatest concerts I’ve ever been to.
Concert Rating: 9.5/10 (Excellent! A Must Attend!)
