It was a Friday night outside the Susquehanna Bank Center and after hours of tailgating I was ready to go see the show. On Friday, May 15th, Brad Paisley made his first stop on the “Crushin It” World Tour in Camden at the Susquehanna Bank Center. I did not go in for the opening act because I did not really care for him all that much. Brad Paisley is easily one of country’s biggest acts out there right now, which was why I was very excited to see this show. There was a lot of nonsense that went on with the people I was with there and the liquor control board, but that’s a different story. Now let me talk about the show itself.
First off, it started off with a great entrance from Brad himself, but I had a major issue with the sound. That isn’t entirely his fault and I have to put most of the blame on the venue because it is an outside venue and if it were inside it would be much louder. Brad played for about an hour and a half and played most hits with the exception of a couple that I wanted to see and he also played some stuff off the new album. Not to say that this show was bad by any means, but I did not see enough energy from Brad on stage and I thought that his set was way too short. That is a problem with me when I see anyone with a short setlist. You pay a lot of money to go see these people and they should play for at least 2-3 hours.
Now that I got some of the negative things out-of-the-way, let’s talk about some positive things about the concert. For starters, the crowd was great. That is something that always makes or breaks a show when you have a good crowd or shitty crowd. Even though I said the setlist was pretty short, the songs he did play were great ones and that’s another positive thing about this show. It’s also all about who you are with. When you go with a good group of people it makes the show a more fun and better time and fortunately I was there with some good friends.
Overall, Brad Paisley was not the best country concert I have been to by any means, but it was still an enjoyable night that many people can go and have a good time. Brad is probably someone you will want to check out at some point.
