The Transporter Refueled (2015)

Bring back Statham, this guy is way too weak! Again, we have Frank Martin (Ed Skrein). Frank is the type of guy that will pretty much take any job that is offered to him, but it must be around his rules and terms. When a woman named Anna (Loan Chabanol) contacts Frank about a business mission, Frank obviously accepts. Frank wanted to make it clear that whatever is done it must be done by his rules, but little does he know is that Anna is doing some sneaky stuff and she even kidnaps Franks father, Frank Sr. (Ray Stevenson). When Frank finds out the news of this, he immediately wants to call off the deal, but Anna lets him know that if he does this he will get his father back and everything will be fine. If Frank does not complete the job, then his father will die. After all this, all kinds of chaos starts to break out.

Where do I start with this one? The Transporter Refueled is a hug mess of poor acting and writing. In all honesty, this is probably the worst action movie of the year so far. There was absolutely nothing about this that was the least bit exciting, interesting, or even fun for that matter. The first three films were not great at all, but you can’t say that you didn’t enjoy watching them. Sure, they were over-the-top and often ridiculous, but that’s what was good about them. The greatest thing about those movies was Jason Statham and he was replaced in this one for a reason that I cannot figure out. This would have been much better had he be involved.

The acting was absolutely atrocious. The new guy, Ed Skrein was absolutely terrible. He showed me no signs of someone who can be bad-ass and pull off this role. I’m not trying to say that Jason Statham was unbelievable at this role, but to replace him with someone like Skrein is just downright wrong. The least they can do is go after someone better who can possibly pull this off. He was so weak as Frank Martin and I think this is one of the reasons I hated this movie as much as I did. I do not know Loan Chabanol all that well and it’s no surprise that I don’t. She was almost as bad as Skrein. The only somewhat, good actor in this movie was Ray Stevenson and he wasn’t even all that impressive.

This whole entire movie was just a complete travesty and I seriously hope that if they are going to make another one they A.) Find a new director and B.) Find a new Frank Martin. Those two options are just the first of many steps that need to be taken. This is just a really stupid movie that is loaded with problems and has absolutely nothing good about it. The writing was sloppy and dull and the action is just absurd. This is a movie that is very was to forget about and I hope that none of you have to take the time out of your day to see this movie. Nothing about this movie worked and I’m hoping they decide not to make another one.

Overall, The Transporter Refueled does nothing to entertain you or thrill you in any way. The acting is atrocious and the writing is poor at best. This is definitely one that I recommend skipping.

Grade= D- (Terrible!)
